The functions of Engineering Department are mentioned below:-
• Annual docking for repair
• Emergency docking for engines
• Major overhaul for engines
• Re-engining
• New constructions
• Performing to support full utilization of fleet as planned
• Implementation of plans by coordination with other departments

There are six dockyards under the control of Engineering Department to implement the functions related to ship repairing  and new ship construction and the date of the dockyard are mentioned below.
